Several of you have been asking about our little rescued kitten. To those I have not answered, I am sorry for my silence, but I did not have the heart to reply. I will keep this short, because our hearts are very heavy, and reliving this moment is difficult… But since so many of you are asking, I would rather not have to go through it again and again…
Barely two days ago, I announced a little newcomer to the family: Thésée, a little kitten who had miraculously pulled through. Unfortunately, after surviving those ordeals, his recovery was short-lived…
He was still in very good shape yesterday evening and was even starting to become much more active and playful. We had already ordered everything he needed, and we were confident. Unfortunately this morning, shortly after we had given him his medication, he began to show signs of pain and to meow in an unusual way. While we were messaging the vet, I put him in his litter tray and he did his business. We brought him back beside us, but it had not brought him any relief, and he kept meowing in that unusual way. One or two minutes later, he passed away: Thésée was gone… . I tried, in vain, to revive him for around twenty minutes.
We had become deeply attached from the very first day to this little kitten who had defied every prognosis, and our hearts are broken, despite the small consolation of having given him a little happiness and warmth, and stayed beside him until the very last second. I am not a believer, but if there were a heaven for cats, I am certain he would have a place there.
You will remain forever etched in our memories, and you will always have a place in our hearts. Rest in peace, my little Thésée.
