Installing a Squid proxy with authentication on Debian Linux

squid

This Bash script lets you easily install a Squid proxy with username / password authentication on a Debian Linux server with a single command. Using it could not be simpler: you need a Debian 9 (Stretch) server, then download the file and run it:

wget --no-check-certificate https://www.christophe-casalegno.com/tools/squid.sh
chmod +x squid.sh
./squid.sh

Then, to create a user:

htpasswd -c /etc/squid/users votreutilisateur
New password:
Re-type new password:
service squid reload
