Between Halloween preparations, I am rebuilding part of my backup infrastructure: one Proxmox Backup Server per node, installed on Debian 12 at OVHcloud. I show you the server and network preparation, with a KVM console ready to regain control if things go wrong.
And there is no shortage of opportunities. An error in my network configuration cuts connectivity first. After installing PBS and its kernel, the interfaces change names. I keep the troubleshooting in the video: the whole point of this session is to provoke unexpected problems and learn to solve them, without production constraints.
I continue with ZFS storage, my choice of RAID 10 for write performance, the account and its permissions, then adding the backup server to Proxmox VE. A test backup completes successfully. I also show you a feature I particularly like: browsing the backed-up content to recover a file or directory directly.
