SxLoadCheck
SxLoadCheck is a GPL-licensed Bash script for quickly comparing web performance (DNS, TLS, TTFB) across multiple domains. It can also optionally carry out full DNS diagnostics.
I use it from my workstations through the “slc” command in /usr/local/bin
Main features
– Simultaneous analysis of multiple domains (using `curl`).
– Detailed display: DNS lookup, TLS handshake, TTFB.
– Checks the validity of the supplied FQDNs.
– Lightweight DNS diagnostics: resolution time, TTL, NS.
– Advanced DNS diagnostics: trace, glue records, SOA/A records.
Usage
slc.sh --domains exemple1.com,exemple2.com
With quick DNS diagnostics:
slc.sh --domains exemple1.com,exemple2.com --dns-check
With full (deep) DNS diagnostics:
slc.sh --domains exemple1.com,exemple2.com --deep-dns
Example error for an invalid FQDN:
Error: the following entries are not valid FQDNs:
- invalid_domain
Options
--domains Liste de domaines séparés par virgules (obligatoire)
--dns-check Active un diagnostic DNS léger
--deep-dns Lance un diagnostic DNS complet
--help, -h Affiche l'aide
Requirements
– `curl`
– `dig`
– `whois` (for some advanced options)
Todo list
– Add a `–threshold` option to raise an alert if TTFB > x sec.
– Add a `–headless` mode for silent runs.
Resources
– Script: slc.sh
